First we stayed a bit more to the north where we were more in the middle of the action and then we moved to this hotel which is in a more quiet area of south beach. The mix was perfect for us.Very pretty lobby with complementary water and good coffee in the morning.

Benefits of raising house plants

Elyssa Goins is an experienced house plant hobbyist who maintains over a hundred plants. She is a member of the American Horticultural Society, has a published study in the National Social Science Association, and loves to talk about her love of plants. For the past twenty years, she’s been all about growing and caring for various fruits, veggies, herbs, livestock, kids, and houseplants.

If you have pets, you may want to keep them away from your snake plant because, although it's not fatally poisonous, your cats and dogs can get sick if they ingest even a few bites. ZZ plants are a great beginner house plant because you don’t need too put much thought into them. Here are the answers to the most frequently asked questions about houseplants. If you are a fan of carnivorous plants, sundews do well in full sun as long as they’re kept in a marsh-like setup (they are commonly found in bogs, so place them on a pebble tray). Sundew plants often have rosettes and feature sticky pads that trap insects and digest them.

Bromeliads produce flowers in shades of orange, purple, bright red, or blue. Just make sure they get plenty of bright and indirect light all day long. You can drive down any neighborhood street and count all the Boston ferns adorning porches, stoops, and patios. This plants absolutely adores humidity, which is one reason the fern is so popular in the South. If you keep your ferns indoors, it is best to place a humidifier near the plants so they don't dry out. These plants do exceptionally well in offices with fluorescent lighting or at home with extremely low natural light.

Cast iron plants feature gorgeous leaves that are long, and stiff. They are drought-tolerant and can survive full exposure to sunlight. You can try out any of these popular houseplants in your homes or offices.

house plant varieties

Most varieties of Bromeliads are easy to grow either in the greenhouse or indoors. Just ensure they get plenty of indirect light al day for best flowers. A sunny window with a sheer curtain provides just the amount of bright, filtered light the rubber plant likes. Water every one to two weeks to allow plenty of time for the soil to dry out.

Alocasia cuprea bears large, leathery heart-shaped leaves in a variety of colours. Grow in bright light to partial shade, with a good degree of humidity - a bright bathroom is ideal. Crassula ovata ‘Gollum’ is an unusual plant with tubular, trumpet shaped leaves. It looks like a small tree, and the branching trunk becomes thick with age. It may produce clusters of small, star-like, white or pinkish-white flowers with pink stamens in winter.

However, they like warmer areas, so keep them away from doors and windows. Although neither related to asparagus nor technically a fern, this small South African bush is easy to grow and an outstanding choice for beginner gardeners. It doesn’t grow too large for most households, and the flattish, triangular leaves provide an interesting texture to enjoy. Gentle and frequent watering, with indirect light, will keep it regular. Air plants get both nutrients and water through their leaves, so the easiest way to care for them is to mist them every day or every other day if it’s cooler out. They enjoy bright but indirect light, especially in areas with high humidity.

They are not considered highly toxic or lethal, but their leaves and stems do contain calcium oxalate crystals that can irritate skin, mouths, and stomachs. This may cause them to drool, vomit, or experience other gastrointestinal distress. It’s best to keep ZZ plants away from curious pets or children. The plant's vibrant purple or pink flowers add a pop of color to any room. Keep soil evenly moist and water from the bottom to prevent potential fungal diseases.

"Monstera is one of my favorite plants that make a statement, perfect for a bright open space," Pangborn says. "Known for its fast-growing nature and large leaves with dramatic holes that resemble Swiss cheese, the Monstera is an easy choice and is adaptable to most indoor environments." Dumb cane plants are prized for their intriguing, patterned foliage, and their relatively easy-care nature.

As lilies, however, these plants should be avoided in any homes with cats as these plants are known to be very toxic to felines. With feathery foliage and woody, occasionally bulbous stems, this dwarf tree originally comes from India and is known for its charming shape and glossy leaves. Preferring consistently moist, not soggy, soil, Ming aralia’s treelike form makes it especially well-suited for bonsai.

The couple had a 75th "birthday party" in 2014 for the home, in which they recounted its history to family and close friends. However, the space was awkwardly designed around the chimney for the living room fireplace. And the primary bedroom had a hidden room behind it built for nursing. Over the years, the Gorlins repurposed rooms to cater to their family's needs. In the basement, the brewing family, perhaps not surprisingly, built a bar with a serving window and tap. When the Gorlins were raising their three children in the home, they turned the taproom into a play space that their kids called the Pioneer Room because of the Lincoln log-like walls.

It’s only a matter of time before the character is finally married to Steve, thanks to the second half of season 5 coming in June 2020 to the streaming platform. She is quite similar to Danny Tanner in the original Full House series, as she is a single, widowed parent of three children. Like him, you also see her grow as a person, and try to date other people. Started off in a love triangle in season 1, when both Steve, her high school love, and Matt.

Characteristics

Even though most viewers know her as DJ Tanner, “DJ” technically isn’t this character’s first name. Her birth name, given to her by Danny and Pam, is much, much longer. Horseback riding, soccer and music. Spends most of her time hanging out with friends, especially her neighbor Kimmy Gibbler, who is an almost-constant presence in the already full Tanner household. In San Francisco, Calif., with her father, Danny, and her “uncles,” Joey and Jesse. Also, her younger sisters Stephanie and Michelle.

And Steve to go to the prom together. From season seven to the end of the series, both work as waitresses at The Smash Club. In the episode "Star Search" (3.6), as she and Stephanie surprise Michelle with a tiara and tutu (in the opening teaser), it is revealed that she did ballet dancing when she was younger. Has a Pillow Person that she is attached to; unlike Mr. Bear, D.J.'s Pillow Person is still seen until the series ends. Has a charm bracelet that her mother gave her when they brought her new sister Michelle home from the hospital. In "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun", she learns the hard way that Becky isn't just her friend and aunt, but also parental.

She and her daughter Ramona (Soni Nicole Bringas) moved into the Tanner home so that Kimmy could help DJ raise her sons. Ramona is not all that thrilled with having to share a living space with the Fuller boys. Yet as the years went by, she and Jackson managed to form a brother/sister type of relationship.

She was cast throughout the eight seasons of the series until its end in 1995. Though she gets upset at times over her father prying into her or otherwise embarrassing her, she is always quick to apologize when she gets angry with at him. Is often irritated about the limits her father places on her, and usually breaks these limits. Nevertheless, she eventually learns her lesson (usually the hard way). Though Joey remained a bachelor throughout the "Full House" series, we discover in the reboot "Fuller House" that his character finally managed to settle down and start a family.

Decides to secretly skip a day of school to get her autograph by pretending to be sick. She gets Jesse to mention how he once secretly and successfully skipped a day from school, and D.J. Pulls that same trick on both him and Joey. After reuniting with his high school sweetheart, Steve proposed.

She shares a room with Stephanie at the beginning, later to switch with Michelle (in season five) for privacy reasons. Even though she sometimes bickers with her sisters, she deeply cares for them. Announces a big surprise that her and Steve are dating. Is shown handling many tough situations with general ease.
